TAMPA, Fla. – The Super-20 League announced today the All-Tournament Team for the 2014 Super-20 League Championship, presented by Nike, that concluded this past Sunday at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Two members of 2014 champion Parsippany SC were selected, with Championship Game MVP Carmine Colasurdo leading the way.
Colasurdo had a pair of goals in four games, including one in Parsippany’s 4-1 victory against Tampa Bay United in Sunday’s championship game. He was joined on the All-Tournament team by defender Andrew Ruane, who had a pair of assists in the tournament and was solid defensively.
Tournament runner-up Tampa Bay United led all teams with four selections, led by standout midfielder Brett Durrance, who had four goals and two assists to lead his side to the championship game. Goalkeeper Brian Hoxi also earned selection after recording two shutouts in the group stage, while defender Cory Sauerwine and forward Jason Collister, who had three goals and an assist in group play, were also named.
Tournament Golden Boot winner Nicholas Zuniga of Beachside SC of CT joined Collister in the forward line after scoring seven goals, while the front line was completed by Andrew Lewis of the Grand Rapids Crew, who brought creativity and a good scoring touch as Grand Rapids finished the tournament undefeated.
Fellow Crew member Tyler Moorman also earned selection defensively, where he was joined by IMG Academy center back Spencer Moeller after consistent displays throughout the group stage. Triangle FC midfielder James Compton completed the team after he shone at both ends of the field for his side.
