FC Wichita Becomes KSYSA Member

FC Wichita has joined Kansas Youth Soccer Association (KSYSA) as an affiliated member.

With the new membership status, FC Wichita became the only Wichita based club considered a registrar and full voting member. "Our local league, Sedgwick County Soccer Association (SCSA), has historically been the affiliate that allowed all other local clubs to register with KSYSA under their league umbrella," said CEO Blake Shumaker. "Although we will always support SCSA, we felt this move gives us our own identity and the proper sanctioning to grow the club."

Through affiliation FC Wichita will not only get their voice heard with voting rights, but will also receive event sanctioning by US Youth Soccer and the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).

"We will immediately start building a hosting agreement with the City of Wichita for local tournaments to be held under the FC Wichita brand," said Director of Soccer Operations Larry Inlow. "We are ready to utilize our out of state partnership clubs and other resources to make Wichita a competitive meeting place for the elite youth soccer traveling team."

On August 6th and 7th, FC Wichita has already set a series of friendlies and will host treams from Kansas City, Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
