Major Field Sports Lighting

GVLL Families and Friends,

In October, 2015 the GVLL Board of Directors formed a committee to review a Field Lighting Project for our King Road Facility, Major Field.

After countless volunteer hours and donated professional legal assistance invested by several project team members to secure proposals, evaluate plans, notify the neighboring community and formally apply for Conditional-Use Permits from East Whiteland, GVLL did receive 'Initial Approval' for Lights at Major Field by the East Whiteland Township Zoning Hearing Board of Supervisors on September 7, 2016.

Understandably, there were several concerns expressed by adjoining residential property owners which we fully expected, appreciated and addressed with expert lighting testimony and our legal representation.

The next step in the process is the Conditional Use Hearing on October 12, 7pm at East Whiteland Township.

This Hearing will take place during the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting.

We expect any potential residential concerns to be formally represented via legal counsel at this next hearing.

We respectfully ask that as MANY of our GVLL Community members, ESPECIALLY GVLL Families with children who will actually have the opportunity to play UNDER THE LIGHTS at Major Field beginning in the Spring, 2017 to attend this hearing !!!

Please plan to attend with your children, ideally in GVLL uniforms, for the EWT Board and the neighboring property owners to see and appreciate the youth we support in our community at GVLL.
